How will our next U.S. Senator represent the people of Ohio?
My name is David L. Myers. If you would help to elect me as your United States Senator this November I can answer that question. For the first time in our adult life, I as your senator, will ask you how you want me to vote, and I will vote that way. I know...you've heard this before, but it never happened did it? Please read on...
While we still have the United States Constitution in force, we are guaranteed the right to representation. Don't you think our current representatives have forgotten the meaning of representation? I do!
We ask how did this happen! Unfortunately, the answer is likely to be very simple. Somehow, a long time ago, the people in Ohio must have been so busy just trying to live and take care of families that they decided to just elect someone they thought they could trust to make decisions for them. Like a friend. I'm sure that worked for a good while. Today marks a time when we do not elect people we trust to make decisions for us, we just try to elect the best of a bunch of people that we don't like.
We know any politician that we elect will not do what they say they will, will not do what we ask them to do, and likely will not do what is in our best interest. So...we just pick the one with the best hair, or cutest dog, or maybe a name we've heard before. Don't you think we should have a better way to choose? Don't you think that we should choose someone that will actually represent us? I do!
I have a solution to the problem. I know it sounds simplistic but here is how we'll do it...I will promise the one thing that we have not had in my adult lifetime..."I will represent the wishes of the people of Ohio."
I can tell you a lot of things I believe in, and I'm sure you will believe in a lot of the same things. But I plan to represent your wishes not mine. What you believe in is much more important than what I believe in. As your senator I will apply your beliefs to my actions and my senate votes.
This is my dream. We are only one state in fifty, however, why should we not be the leader in bringing our country to the people so that "we the people" can be in control. I'd like to say, back in control, but as I said, I haven't seen the people in control of our government in my adult lifetime.
I know that this all sounds too good to be true, but that's only because the system has been this way for so long we just feel overwhelmed. We need someone strong enough to stand up for the wishes of the people, and I, Dave L. Myers am willing to do this not only for you, but for myself.
So, let me tell you why I feel that I can take on this uphill battle against the lawyers, politicians, media, lobbyists, and anyone else that stands in the way of what is right for the people of Ohio...AND WIN!
It's simple...first...because it's right, and second, because I have only one interest and that is to help lead the way to a people operated government the way it was originally designed to be.
Think about this...with ninety-nine other senators voting...what promise could I make and keep except, "I will know and vote the wishes of the state of Ohio because I will ask you."
If this happens, the people of the state of Ohio may be the only ones that are truly represented in the senate, but once we get the ball rolling, I'm sure the people of other states will join in. We need regular people in all of congress who will not be affected by the greed and self-promoting and manipulation that has existed for too long. Don't you think our so called "law makers" have really overstepped their ability to even be reasonable in decision making? I do!
You will have to get to know me a little before you feel you can trust me enough to help get me elected, but that's okay, we have enough time for that. I want to be your elected servant. Bet you haven't heard that for a long time...if ever! Please read on.
Now before you start laughing, please think about what I'm about to tell you. I don't need or want money, but I do need your help and your vote. The only reason a candidate needs money is because they have to try to convince you to vote for them through all the crap they try to beat into your head instead of just saying what I'm saying. I will actually, and really, be your voice in the senate, that's all. I don't think I can do any better than that!
So...I want you to help me show all the people that think they know how to get elected by raising and spending other peoples' money to get elected, that all you need is the support, and vote, of the people you will be working for.
Using the old word of mouth, and all the new technology we have today, I know that we can make enough noise to move to the top of the group of candidates and blow by them and get elected, if that would be your wishes.
I only need you to help by talking to other people, and of course I would also need your vote. That's all. We can do this, and we have the time and the means of doing it.
Here is exactly what I would like you to do to help me get elected. I am going to email this letter to everyone on my email list, and ask that they send it to everyone on their email list whether it's Ohio, or Arizona, or anywhere, just send it to everyone. They may know someone that lives in Ohio. If you know someone without email, would you please print out a copy and give it to them. Or ask that someone else mail it to them, or hand carry it to them. I want to try to reach everyone. You would be surprised at how many people know other people that know even more people and I'm sure they would like to have this type of campaign in their state.
Now for a little biography. I am sixty-one years old and will be sixty-two by the time election comes in November. I have owned and operated a small successful business for twenty-nine years, and trust me it has not always been fun, but I do not give up. Except of course, in the direction our law makers are taking us. I can't sit back and wait for things to get better. I'll bet you feel that way too.
I've also been married to the same woman for twenty-seven years if that means anything to you.
If you can take just a little bit of your time to get to know me, and just a little bit of time to tell your friends about me, and if you could just vote for me...I will accept the job of making your wishes known in Washington. Now wouldn't that be nice for a change.
So if you've ever said, "why doesn't anyone ever ask me what I think," then you're going to want me as your servant in the senate...NOW!
